Dr. Chen Changfeng is a professor and former dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University. She is also the head of the AI Media Research Center and editor-in-chief of the Global Journal of Media Studies. Her academic field is Media Ethics, media history and social change.
Prior to joining Tsinghua University, she earned her Ph.D. from Renmin University (1993-1996) and worked for twelve years at Peking University (1996-2008), where she was an associate professor at the School of International Studies and deputy dean of the School of Journalism and Communication.
Dr. CHEN is a member of the UNESCO-IFAP working group and the Academic Committee of the State Council of China. She is also vice chair of the National Journalism and Communication Steering Committee of China. She served as president of the Chinese Association of Journalism & Communication, the only national academic association for journalism and communication studies in China, for five years. In 2018, she was elected founding president of the Asia-Pacific Communication Alliance (APCA), which unites researchers and educators from more than twenty communication associations from sixteen countries. She is the only international council member of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) in East Asia.
