Jonathan Gandari is the Chief Director at Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services and a member of Zimbabwe’s Information for All Programme (IFAP). As Chief Director, he oversees government messaging and programs and translates the Ministry’s mandate into effective messaging programs and media policies. From 2018 to the present, he has successfully overseen the transformation of the media environment in Zimbabwe, resulting in the licensing of more media players and improved safety of journalists.
He holds postgraduate qualifications in Media and Journalism from Rhodes University in South Africa and Global Business and Media from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Jonathan has vast experience in media and journalism. He has a deep interest in AI, Promoting Public Access to Government Information.
