Pavel Gerardo Vega is a Guatemalan journalist and communicator with over 15 years of experience in investigative reporting, data analysis, and public accountability. His work has been published in leading outlets such as Prensa Libre, Plaza Pública, elPeriódico, and Soy502. Pavel has been recognized with a National Journalism Award in Guatemala, and is the author of the recently released book La Antorcha (2025). Beyond reporting, Pavel is an educator in writing and communication at workshops he leads at institutions such as Universidad de San Carlos, Fundación Junkabal, and Fondo de Cultura Económica. His career also spans editorial consulting for organizations such as Oxfam and Acción Ciudadana. He is passionate about freedom of speech, freedom of the press and access to information, and frequently lectures on journalism, writing, and civic engagement.
